Questions, answered
Is my document really never uploaded?+
Yes. DocuVera's compression runs as code inside your browser tab. The page's security policy blocks it from sending data to any other website, and you can check your browser's Network tab to confirm your file is never sent anywhere.
Will my text get blurry?+
No. DocuVera never converts pages to pictures. Text, fonts, and vector drawings are kept exactly as they are; only embedded photos and scans are re-encoded.
Why did my PDF barely shrink?+
PDFs made mostly of text are already compact, since text takes very little space. The big savings come from PDFs with photos or scanned pages.
Is there a file size limit?+
Files up to 50 MB work well in any modern browser. Larger files depend on how much memory your device has.
A portal keeps rejecting my file. How do I find out why?+
Open Check a document, enter the portal's rules (accepted formats, maximum size, pages, page size, or photo dimensions), or pick a preset, then drop in your file. You'll see each requirement marked pass or fail, with your file's actual value next to what's required.
What can the document checker fix automatically?+
It can compress a file to fit a size limit, convert images between JPEG, PNG, and WebP, put a photo onto a PDF page (e.g. A4) when only PDFs are accepted, and shrink photos that are too large in pixels. After fixing, it re-checks the new file against the same rules, so a pass really means it passes.
Why won't it fix some requirements?+
Some changes could damage your document: removing pages, changing the page size of an existing PDF, enlarging a small photo (which makes it blurry), or turning a scan into searchable text. For these, DocuVera explains what to change in the original instead of guessing.
Can I share a set of requirements with others?+
Yes. In Check a document, click “Share these requirements” to copy a link that opens the checker with the same rules. Useful for employers, colleges, or anyone collecting documents.
Does checking a file use up my free daily files?+
No. Checking is always free. A file counts toward the free daily limit only when you fix, compress, or convert it, and each file counts once however many times you re-run it.
